21-P017 Notch signaling in pulmonary epithelial cell differentiation

چکیده
Axin2 loss, we are over-expressing a drug-stabilised b-catenin construct in wild-type skull osteoblast cultures, and in skull explant (calvarial) cultures. Using a drug-dependent b-catenin will allow us to investigate the threshold levels of Wnt signalling required for ossification and the stages at which the b-catenin signal is critical for osteoblast differentiation. Our findings from these investigations will be reported here.

9-cis-Retinoic Acid and 1,25-dihydroxy Vitamin D3 Improve the Differentiation of Neural Stem Cells into Oligodendrocytes through the Inhibition of the Notch and Wnt Signaling Pathways
Background: Differentiating oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPCs) into oligodendrocytes could be improved by inhibiting signaling pathways such as Wnt and Notch. 9-cis-retinoic acid (9-cis-RA) and 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 (1,25[OH]2D3) can ameliorate oligodendrogenesis. We investigated whether they could increase oligodendrogenesis by inhibiting the Wnt and Notch signaling pathways. Methods: Co...
متن کاملComparative evaluation of NOTCH signaling molecules in the endometrium of women with various gynecological diseases during the window of implantation
Objective(s): NOTCH signaling pathway is well known for its role in cell fate, cell survival, cell differentiation, and apoptosis. Some of the NOTCH signaling genes are critical for endometrial function and implantation in animals and appear to play a similar role in humans. The purpose of the current study was to investigate the potential roles of some main components of the NOTCH family in hu...
متن کاملJagged1 is the major regulator of Notch-dependent cell fate in proximal airways.
BACKGROUND The Notch signaling pathway plays complex roles in developing lungs, including regulation of proximodistal fates, airway cell specification and differentiation. However, the specific Notch-mediated signals involved in lung development remain unclear. RESULTS Here we report that Jagged1 is expressed in a subset of bronchial and bronchiolar epithelial cells, where it controls proxima...
متن کاملEpithelial Notch signaling regulates lung alveolar morphogenesis and airway epithelial integrity.
Abnormal enlargement of the alveolar spaces is a hallmark of conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and bronchopulmonary dysplasia. Notch signaling is crucial for differentiation and regeneration and repair of the airway epithelium. However, how Notch influences the alveolar compartment and integrates this process with airway development remains little understood. Here we repo...
متن کاملIntegrins regulate epithelial cell differentiation by modulating Notch activity.
Coordinating exit from the cell cycle with differentiation is crucial for proper development and tissue homeostasis. Failure to do so can lead to aberrant organogenesis and tumorigenesis. However, little is known about the developmental signals that regulate the switch from cell cycle exit to differentiation. Signals downstream of two key developmental pathways, Notch and Salvador-Warts-Hippo (...
